SADDLEBAGS
REMOVAL
See service manual for illistration as removal and installations procedures differ between model/year softail motorcycles. Remove acorn nut and washer from lower support. Remove flange nuts and washers from inside saddlebag. Lift saddlebag away from motorcycle. Remove nuts behind fender support if necessary.
INSTALLATION
NOTE:
On 2002 FLSTS models, there is a washer between stud and fender support. If replacing isolator, long (silver) threads face saddlebag and short (yellow) threads face support. in-lbs (13.6-16.3 Nm). Install lower bracket acorn nut and washer. Tighten to 80-100 in-lbs (9.0-11.3 Nm).
See picture diagram in softail service manual for assembly scamatics. If removed, tighten nuts behind fender support to 21-27 ft-lbs (28.5-36.6 Nm). Install flange nuts and washers inside saddlebags. Tighten to 120-144.
